KATAVI SAFARIS

Location: Katavi National Park, Western Tanzania
Climate: Remains hot most of the year, rains in Apr, May and Nov.
Typical Landscape: Doum palms, thick dry bush, huge spaces of unexplored land

Katavi National Park is by far the least visited of the other Tanzanian National Parks. The park is approximately 4,471 sq km and encompasses the Katuma River and the seasonal Lake Katavi and Lake Chada floodplains. It is famous for it’s huge herds of animals, particularly buffalo and hippos.
